I got this for Christmas in, like, 1978. I maybe used it a half dozen times total (it is only an AM radio after all). I’m not sure why I kept it all these years. Maybe I could foresee the retro sci-fi collectibles craze back when I was 10 years old, but I doubt it. I’m actually thinking of throwing it up on the e-bay – maybe I’ll get rich. It does have all the original packaging.

I’m really enjoying all the robot posts. You never know what’s going to take hold of the typosphere.

As someone who spent most of my childhood in the sixties, I can remember when getting a transistor radio was the most cool thing a kid could get, and we’d all compare how many transistors it said on the cover. AM radio was, and is, democracy in action. Shame it’s nothing but crud now. Cheap, universally available-there is nothing else like it. And I don’t remember seeing a robot radio like this either!
